About this app

Tankful is a fuel-efficiency driving coach for your phone. It turns every drive into clear, glanceable feedback so you can see the small moments that quietly waste fuel — hard acceleration, heavy braking, needless idling — and build smoother, more efficient habits over time.

No extra hardware. No OBD adapter. No account. No ads. Tankful runs on the phone you already have.

WHAT IT DOES
- Live coaching while you drive: a simple on-screen bar reacts in real time to how you accelerate, coast and brake, so you can feel the difference moment to moment and ease into a smoother style.
- Your week: a short, friendly weekly summary that highlights your biggest fuel-wasting habit, gives you a few specific things to try next, and shows how this week compared with your own baseline.
- Per-drive breakdown: review any trip and see distance, time, and where your fuel actually went, so the feedback is concrete rather than vague.
- Tank tracking: log a refuel and Tankful works out your real fuel economy tank to tank, grounding your progress in what actually went into the tank, not just an estimate.
- Your garage: add your vehicle from a built-in catalogue (make, model, year, engine) so the coaching fits the car you're actually driving, and switch between multiple vehicles.
- Coach over your maps: Tankful can show a small coach bubble over your navigation app while you drive, so you keep the feedback without switching back and forth (opt-in).

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Your privacy is the starting point, not a setting you have to hunt for.
- All data collection is OFF until you choose to turn it on.
- No name, no email, no login, no advertising ID, ever.
- Anything you do choose to share is anonymous and stored on Australian servers.
- You can export or delete everything from inside the app at any time.

HOW IT WORKS
Tankful uses your phone's GPS while you drive to estimate how efficiently you're going, then turns that into feedback you can act on. It doesn't read your engine and doesn't need a plug-in OBD device. To keep coaching while your screen is on another app, Tankful can keep running in the background and show its coach over other apps — both are opt-in, and you stay in control of when it's on.

Everyday drivers who'd like to waste less fuel and drive a little smoother — commuters, parents on the school run, tradies, anyone watching what they spend at the pump — without buying a gadget or signing up for anything.
