Fewer is a home screen built around pickups, not screen time.
The home screen is deliberately quiet: what you mean to do today, how many times you have picked up the phone so far, and the six tools you actually use. No widgets, no notification dots, no wallpaper, no icons.
THE COUNT
Fewer counts how many times a day you pick up the phone — and how many of those were for nothing: unlocked, looked, locked again. The number stays on the home screen. Nobody wants it to be 90.
THE SENTENCE
One sentence at the top: what today is for. Finish it and it drops below; the next one comes. At the start of the week Fewer asks a few questions — what breaks if it doesn't get done this week, what you'll regret putting off, what's on your mind but can wait — and has you pick five things. Each morning's sentence comes from that list.
TIME SINKS
Tag Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and the like as time sinks. Opening one from the home screen shows a short pause: how much today, how many minutes you'll stay. It doesn't lock; it asks. When you come back you see what you said against what happened. Set a daily budget and the pause gets longer once it's spent — still no lock.
DAY BLOCKS
Morning, work, evening, night. Time sinks meet different friction in each block; at night they can disappear entirely. Blocks follow the clock; switch by hand and it holds until the next one.
ALL APPS
Pull up for the full list: apps you installed this week sit on top for tagging, an alphabet index runs down the edge, and anything you don't want to see can be hidden. The keyboard comes only when you tap "Search".
THE LAST SEVEN DAYS
Swipe left: pickups per day and how many were empty, the apps that took the most time, how often you walked away from the pause screen, how many days had a sentence.
YOUR DATA STAYS ON THE PHONE
No server, no account, no ads, no analytics. The usage access permission feeds only the counter and the ranking, on the device. Decline it and the app still works.
