About this app

The back camera is the good one, but you can't see yourself. Takevu turns a second phone into a live monitor, so you can frame, focus and perform while filming with your best lens.

HOW IT WORKS

One phone films, the other shows. Scan a QR code once and they connect. No internet needed: same Wi-Fi, direct Wi-Fi, or a USB cable (the monitor can even charge the camera phone). Around 60 ms delay on Wi-Fi, less on a cable. Your picture never leaves your two devices.

TWO WAYS TO FILM

Takevu camera: record with the back camera and control it from the monitor: record, zoom, exposure, ISO, shutter speed, focus, white balance, AE/AWB lock and timer. Recording keeps going with the camera phone's screen off, which saves battery and heat.

Any camera app: mirror your phone's screen, so your favourite camera app, or Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, shows up on the monitor too.

BUILT-IN TELEPROMPTER

Read your script on the monitor, right next to the lens. Smooth line-by-line pacing, adjustable speed and text size, and a mirror mode for beam-splitter glass.

MONITORING TOOLS

Zebra, focus peaking, histogram, rule-of-thirds grid and safe-area guides, drawn on the monitor and never burned into your video.

MADE FOR LONG SHOOTS

Takevu slows down and rests the camera when you are idle, and protects your recording if the phone gets hot.

Free sessions last 10 minutes and include recording and photo from the monitor, the mirror and grid tools, the first 150 words of the teleprompter and 720p screen mirroring; Takevu recordings carry a small watermark. Takevu Pro removes the time limit and the watermark, unlocks full remote control, all monitoring tools, the whole teleprompter and 1080p mirroring, and records up to 4K.
