About this app

Alketo interprets a conversation as it happens, translates text from a photo
and puts people who do not share a language in one room. 56 languages.

What you translate is never stored on our servers. Your history stays on
your phone.

── WHAT IT DOES ──

• LIVE INTERPRETER
Speak normally and the translation keeps up. With headphones you hear it
without touching the phone.

• A CONVERSATION BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE
Each of you gets a button and the app switches between the languages
on its own.

• TRANSLATE FROM A PHOTO
Menus, signs, packaging, paperwork. The text is read on the phone itself —
the photo goes nowhere.

• A WHOLE PAGE AT ONCE
A contract, an official letter or a manual in a language you do not read.
The page is translated as one, technical wording included — and numbers,
dates and units stay exactly as written.

• GROUP ROOM
Several people, each in their own language. A six-digit code is all it
takes.

• SUBTITLES
Large text for someone hard of hearing, or for a noisy place.

• YOUR OWN GLOSSARY
Names, brands and specialist terms come out the way you want them,
every time.

• DOUBLE CHECK
On a translation that matters, the text goes through a second time and
points out where the meaning could have shifted.

── ACCESSIBILITY ──

Subtitles are in the free version on purpose. Someone who cannot hear should
not have to buy large text.

The app can be operated with a screen reader. A finished translation is read
out on its own, in the voice of its own language rather than the app's.

── PRIVACY ──

What you translate is not stored on a server and not written to logs. Your
history and your glossary live on your phone only. There are no accounts, we
never ask for your name or e-mail, we do not track you across apps and there
are no ads.

── FREE AND PREMIUM ──

Free: 50 translations and 5 minutes of live interpreting a month, 10 document
pages, a glossary of up to 10 terms, history and subtitles. Nothing is locked
behind a trial.

Premium unlocks a glossary of 40 terms, more saved phrases, the second-pass
accuracy check, regional dialects and share cards without a watermark. It also
raises the monthly allowances to 500 translations, 60 minutes of live
interpreting and 60 document pages.

Monthly or yearly, and Google Play shows the price in your own currency.
The subscription renews automatically and can be cancelled at any time in
your Google Play subscriptions.

Number check and a room that reads aloud
• The app highlights a number, time or amount that differs from the original.
• The group room can read messages aloud.
• "I don't understand" shows the sentence in simpler words.
