Canopie: Parent mental health

We've worked with clinical psychologists to design a program to help you weather life's most physically and emotionally demanding journey. We all need to take care of our mental health and this app will teach you techniques to help you think about yours.

We'll teach you about how to activate your soothing system, which can help you feel calmer in the moment, how to manage your relationships and break out of negative cycles. You'll also learn techniques that can help you understand and manage challenging thoughts and feelings, think about your relationships and how to get the support you need and we'll also share some practical strategies for managing some of the most common challenges during pregnancy and in the first few years of parenthood.

In the app, you’ll find sessions on common challenges such as bonding with your baby or child, managing your relationships, breastfeeding, worries, feeling low, guilty, self-critical and losing your identity. You’ll also find information about mental health challenges including antenatal and postpartum depression and anxiety.

Regardless of how you are feeling, you may find Canopie helpful.

1. We start by asking a couple of questions to understand more about you, your baby or child and anything specific you may be struggling with.

2. We use your responses to create a program tailored to your particular needs. We use evidence based therapeutic techniques proven to help expecting and new parents feel better.

3. We ask you to commit to engaging for 12 minutes a day for 12 days to complete your program. 90% of parents who completed 2 days said they felt the sessions were helpful and 100% of parents who completed the program said they felt a positive change in their emotional health.

You can listen to your Canopie program anytime, anywhere to learn and practice techniques to manage stress, anxious thoughts, and low mood. In the app you’ll also find stories from other parents to help us realize it's normal to struggle, as well as practical tips to help with common challenges such as sleep, feeding and bonding.

You’ll also hear stories from other parents sharing their experiences with the challenges of parenthood and we’ll share practical strategies for managing some of the most common difficulties during pregnancy and in the first few years postpartum.
