About this app

On August 2, 2027, the longest total solar eclipse remaining this century sweeps from the Strait of Gibraltar across North Africa to the Arabian Peninsula. Eclipse 2027, the Allande Stars app, helps you plan it and live it in real time, second by second.

☀️ UP TO SIX MINUTES OF TOTALITY
The path of totality touches southern Spain (Cádiz, Málaga, Ceuta and Melilla), Gibraltar, Morocco (Tangier), Algeria (Oran), Tunisia (Sfax), Libya (Benghazi), Egypt (Luxor, near the maximum of 6 min 20 s), Saudi Arabia (Jeddah, Mecca) and Yemen. Almost all of Europe, Africa and southern Asia will see a partial eclipse.

🗺️ MAP OF TOTALITY
Explore the interactive map with the path drawn on it. Tap any point and get its local circumstances instantly: contact times C1–C4, duration of totality, obscuration, the Sun's altitude and more. Validated against NASA/Espenak.

📍 MY LOCATION
Save your observing sites (from GPS or the map), with automatic terrain altitude. Activate one and the whole app is computed for that point.

⏱️ ON ECLIPSE DAY
Countdown to first contact and to totality, a realistic Sun-and-Moon illustration with the true geometry of every instant (diamond ring, Baily's beads, corona, chromosphere, dynamic sky) and a C1→C4 phase bar.

🔔 SAFETY ALERTS
Configurable voice and sound alarms tell you exactly when to put your eclipse glasses on and take them off, with a safety margin. They work with the phone locked (exact Android alarms).

📷 AUGMENTED REALITY
Point your camera at the sky and the app shows where the Sun will be at every moment of the eclipse — with the Sun's track, the horizon line and an azimuth dial. Perfect for scouting your spot days ahead and making sure nothing blocks your totality.

🎬 SIMULATION
Rehearse the whole eclipse before the day: replay the event from any point on the map at 1×, 10× or 60× speed, with the same alarms. Let nothing take you by surprise.

🌍 IN 7 LANGUAGES
Español, English, Français, العربية, Italiano, Русский and 中文, with the voice alerts in your language (AI-generated voice).

🕘 ARCHIVE
The map and the simulator can also show the eclipse of August 12, 2026, to relive it or compare the two.

✅ Works offline once loaded: the astronomical computation runs on your device — ideal for remote places with no coverage.

⚠️ SAFETY: never look at the Sun without ISO 12312-2 eclipse glasses except during totality. This app is an aid; it does not replace your judgement.
