About this game

Caribbean, 1715. A hurricane has sunk the Spanish Treasure Fleet off Florida, and every captain on the sea wants the silver. Raise your own dark flag and write your legend.

Dark Flag is an open-world pirate RPG with pixel-art 3D ships that really break apart. Sail freely between real historical ports, fight, trade, make friends and enemies, and grow from a lone sloop captain into a feared pirate lord.

• NAVAL BATTLES WITH REAL PHYSICS
Every plank, mast and sail can be shot away. Choose round shot, chain shot, grapeshot or heated shot, aim your broadsides, use bow and stern chasers, then board the enemy and take the prize.

• BECOME A LEGENDARY CAPTAIN
Earn experience from battles, trade and quests. Level up and invest points in Gunnery, Seamanship, Leadership, Trade and Sword, and unlock powerful perks.

• OFFICERS WITH THEIR OWN STORIES
Recruit 8 unique officers, including Mary Read and Israel Hands. Each has a role, a temperament and a loyalty you must earn. Keep them happy and they will ask for your help with a personal quest. Push them too far and they may leave, or rob your treasury.

• CHOICES THAT MATTER
Talk to tavern keepers, merchants, smugglers and governors' daughters. Use your skills to persuade, bargain or threaten. Keep your word or betray your partners; the Caribbean remembers.

• A STORY AND 14 QUEST CHAINS
Follow the hunt for the lost silver of the 1715 Treasure Fleet all the way to Blackbeard, then take on side stories and officer quests across the sea.

• LOOT AND EQUIPMENT
Find swords, pistols, coats, charms and ship fittings in five rarities. Defeat legendary pirates for their unique treasures.

• TRADE, NATIONS AND YOUR OWN FLAG
Buy low and sell high, set up trade routes and patrols. Serve England, France, Spain or the Netherlands as a privateer, or conquer a port and found your own nation with your own flag and diplomacy.
