The Altec Smart Security System 2 app allows you to easily connect and control your Live Video IP Cameras via any mobile device from anywhere and to setup your Live Voice Speakers to control your smart home with your voice.

With the Altec Smart Security System app, you can see what is going on in your home 24/7. Get automatic alerts from your Live Video IP Cameras on motion and sound detection events. The Speakers section is the entry point for the quick start guide and user manual for your Live Voice Speakers.

The app is crashing on startup. I send a log and clear the cache but it shuts down. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have also powered down my phone. Nothing is working. Was trying to reinstall a light bulb and will not work. The lights are working only because I use them through Alexa. Please advise if the bug will be fixed and when an update will be pushed. I have not experienced issues until recently. Thank you

The app, as well as the device, is impossible to use. I barely got it set up in the first place. I'll admit once I had the light bulb going it was nice. However, I moved (with the same wifi) and now it has refused to reconnect ever again. I have tried uninstalling and even making a whole new account. The device just sits there blinking while the app says there are no devices nearby. Very frustrating and disappointing.

App provides little control over what should be common options. For instance, I cannot set it up to take a picture when it detects movement, unless I turn on alarms, and allow it to notify me every time. Turning video recording on to "Event Recording" vs "Full Time Recording" makes no difference... It just records all the time. Fyi, the camera I bought is called a "High Definition WiFi Security Camera" from Altec Lansing, with an item number of "ALT-208".
