About this app

The LinkBluCon mobile and wear app can be used with BluCon NightRider and Abbott's FreeStyle Libre sensor to get near real-time glucose trends.

Type 1 and Type 2 diabetic patients can use this app to connect their iPhone to a BluCon device to read the Freestyle Libre sensor every 5 minutes. Readings are available to the user through a user-friendly and intuitive GUI. This relieves the user from having to scan their sensor every 5 minutes.
LinkBluCon connects to BluCon over a Bluetooth connection to display glucose trends. It also provides a logbook to view past readings. Sign-up is not compulsory.

Please note that a fingerprick test using a blood glucose meter is required during times of rapidly changing glucose levels when interstitial fluid glucose levels may not accurately reflect blood glucose levels or if hypoglycemia or impending hypoglycemia is reported by the LinkBluCon mobile app or when symptoms do not match the LinkBluCon mobile app readings.

It may not be perfect, but it's better than the other Libra readers out there. I used to have the Miao Miao but given that they suddenly required that I login with my real social media profile (Facebook or WeChat) in addition to wanting my email address and my location 24/7, I decided that having the Chinese government be able to track my entire existence and health was probably not a good idea. This app only requires sharing geolocation for Bluetooth, but no personal info is required for use.

If you don't take your phone and keep it in range the app disconnects with BluCon NightRider. which is a pain in the butt. I have been wearing it for a little longer than 24 hours. the instructions to set it up were not very useful. when you connect you have to pusha pin in a small hole. it doesn't say how long to press or you must press twice. then you immediately have to place it over the freestyle libre sensor. with the waterproofing they add a plastic sticker over holel and battery.

Dear Richard, as per the instructions you need to push the button in the hole to turn the device ON so practically you don't need to keep it pressed, just press and release the button. If you are still facing issues please contact us

I've been using the blucon for a month now, and can honestly say that its not worth the investment. The app can be "calibrated" to show any glucose level you want it to - it doesnt actually pull the readings, just how high/low you are since the last reading. It has to be reset if it loses connectivity, which kills batteries. And it doesnt naturally stick to the sensor, you have to stick it or get an armband, if it comes off you get a warning, and then have to reposition it and reset!

Seems your device is not properly placed on the sensor, please use a double sided tape or an armband to make sure it stays on top of the sensor. Sorry about this issue. Please contact us at contact@ambrosiasys.com and let us know if issue is not resolved yet. We would be glad to help with this. Hope to hear from you soon.
