Textbooks, workbooks, academy materials, English storybooks. Start with photos of the words your child needs to memorize this week.

The Ian Vocabulary app finds and displays the English words in the photos on the device, and allows you to select only the necessary words to save as a vocabulary set for your child. Meanings and phonetic symbols are included from the bundled dictionary, and the sentences in which the words appear are also saved.

Learning is done in five ways: cards, English → meaning, meaning → English, typing, and handwriting. Typing checks spelling and marks incorrect positions. Handwriting allows you to write on a 4-line notebook and self-grade by comparing your writing to the correct answers. It reads the words and example sentences aloud, and you can also select the reading speed.

Correctly answered words are reviewed at intervals of 1, 3, 7, or 14 days, while incorrect words are reviewed again from the beginning. You can check the number of words to review today on the home screen, and you can turn on a daily notification if desired. The default setting is off.

In the parent view, you can check the number of study sessions per set, the accuracy rate, frequently missed words, and the amount of study over the past 7 days. You must solve a simple calculation problem to enter.

There are no advertisements, account/login requirements, internet connection, external links, or in-app purchases. All processing takes place on the device, and photos and study records are stored only on the device. They will disappear if you delete the app.
