About this app

Measure ambient sound and noise in real time with a clear sound level meter, decibel meter and frequency analyzer for Android.

Sound Meter: dB & Spectrum combines live dB readings, a noise history graph and a real-time spectrum analyzer in one simple app. Record measurements for up to 4 hours, save detailed results offline, calibrate the dB level, and export your data as CSV or image.

Use the app to check room noise, monitor background sound, compare sound levels, inspect loud environments, identify dominant frequencies or build your own local measurement log.

KEY FEATURES

• Real-time dB meter
Measure the current sound level in decibels with a clear live display.

• Live noise history graph
Follow changes in sound and noise levels over time on an easy-to-read dB graph.

• Frequency and spectrum analyzer
Analyze sound by frequency and see which frequency ranges are currently strongest.

• Peak Hold and Decay
Keep maximum frequency peaks visible with Hold mode or let them gradually disappear with Decay mode.

• Measurements up to 4 hours
Run longer sound level measurements with automatic saving of your results.

• Offline measurement history
Store measurements locally on your device. Add names and notes to create your own sound log.

• Detailed measurement results
Review Min, Leq / average and Max values, measurement duration, pauses, clipping events, calibration settings and the selected audio source.

• CSV export
Export measurement data as a CSV file for further analysis in spreadsheet software.

• Image export
Create and save a clean image report of your measurement results.

• dB calibration
Adjust the decibel offset to better match a reference sound level meter.

• Audio source selection
Choose automatic mode, raw signal when supported, the standard microphone or compatibility mode.

• Clipping detection
Receive a warning when the microphone signal is overloaded and the measurement may be inaccurate.

• Noise floor measurement
Measure the background noise floor of your environment.

• Custom warning threshold
Set your own sound level warning threshold, such as 85 dB.

• Local and private
No audio recordings are saved. The microphone signal is used only to calculate measurement values, and your measurement history remains on your device.

IMPORTANT MEASUREMENT NOTE

Smartphone microphones differ between devices and cannot replace a professional calibrated sound level meter. For more accurate dB SPL values, calibrate the app with a reference meter. Very loud sounds may exceed the limits of your phone microphone and produce inaccurate results.

Sound Meter: dB & Spectrum is a practical sound meter, noise meter, dB meter and audio spectrum analyzer for everyday measurements, comparisons and acoustic observations.
