Remote control for the Squeezebox system. Control your Squeezebox players from your Android device.
This app controls Squeezebox players connected to a Logitech Media Server (Squeezebox Server) or MySqueezebox.com (including the server in the SqueezeBox Touch). Replicates almost every function of a Squeezebox Controller with an interface optimize for a touch screen.

*Screenshots do not show album covers to avoid copyright violations, the app itself will still display the album covers.

Requirements: Logitech Media Server version 7.7 or better (tested with versions up to 7.8). A MySqueezebox.com account is required if you don't use a Squeezebox Server. You can create one from within the app or on the website. And of course Squeezebox players to control.

Notes:
- If the app crashes on launch after an update, please delete the app's data storage.

- There is a bad tip floating around about ways to speed up the UI. It tells you to go into the Developer Options of your phone and setting Animator Duration Scale to Off. Please Do NOT do this. Doing so will prevent this app from functioning properly and possibly other apps too. Instead, try just changing it to 0.5

- This app can be quite demanding on the server compared to other controller apps and as such may not work well with a server running on a NAS. Complaints in the reviews about slowness is likely due to having the server on a NAS. This is especially true if you have a large library (more than 10000 songs)

- Use a wifi connection if possible. A mobile data connection would work if the server is setup correctly, but the performance may not be acceptable.

- When connected, this app is constantly communicating with the server. If you're using a mobile data connection, this may incur a significant data usage fee.

Ratings and reviews

Long time user, this is the best squeezebox controller app I've tried. I use it every day on several devices. Lately a new bug: When attempting to cast the display to a chromecast device, it fails on the chromecast side with a "404 Error, Page Not Found". Any workarounds, is this a known bug? Note that the app continues to think that it is still casting until you tell it to "stop casting". thx

This is almost the perfect app for controlling squeeze boxes and Logitech Media Server devices. My only real complaint is that dragging and dropping to re sort playlists like the now playing list leads to erratic behavior where the wrong song plays in the wrong order. Then an even different song is shown as playing. I like most everything else but I like to curate playlists as I listen, and the errors can be brutal.

Really excellent app.! Well made, polished and flexible. Volume issues resolved with phone update. The biggest differences to other apps is that adding tracks to playlists, getting info for tracks etc is all accessible and finished. All other apps glitched. Programmed to allow customisation. Worth every penny/cent. I wish I'd purchased this sooner. The support is equally top notch. You have to really search hard to find room for improvement and it exists but it's so close to perfection!
