I recently decided to download AVG and run a few manual scans since I can't afford the premium version of it, I personally don't mind having to choose to run scans myself. The only thing that the scan detects is "vulnerabilities", which I think was Web Shield being off? The other thing I've noticed is increased heat and potentially slightly quicker battery drainage while using the app. Other than that, it works, but I'm still paranoid. I get spooked easily- And how effective is the free version?

Wickedly OVERPRICED BUT you get what you pay for. I feel it is a solid device protection for my phones, tablets, & computers. The price is way too high. I wonder if I should just change my anti-virus every year and save tons. AVG does a great job keeping my stuff safe and cleaning up the junk to optimize performance.

The app is free and works well. The enhanced version with all the bells and whistles has a reasonable cost. AVG has the depth of experience and a friendly interface for the novice. YOUR PHONE IS A COMPUTER it has a lot of YOUR DATA on it. Protect yourself from the nasty people out there. From viruses to theft. They have you covered from electronic warfare to physical theft or attack. ;)
