About this game

MoM is a cultist simulator in the idle clicker genre created by two indie game designers who love pixel art and the dark fantasy world of H.P. Lovecraft. Take on the role of a devoted acolyte, seeking to awaken Cthulhu in his ruined temple. Tap to gather souls or summon eldritch horrors to do it for you. Your cultists and minions ensure that both tapping and automation remain powerful as you grow incrementally.

As indie developers, we believe in a fair, ad-free experience. All ads in MoM are optional and everything can be earned just by playing. No paywalls, just pure strategic gameplay.

We've spent years refining Masters of Madness Incremental to create a deep and rewarding experience:

◆ Draw occult sigils to unleash powerful bonuses
◆ Collect artifacts that unlock unique abilities
◆ Decorate your shrine with idols to gain strategic buffs
◆ Master the ascension & transcension system for endless progression
◆ Participate in regular events with special modifiers
◆ Immerse yourself in the atmospheric dark-fantasy world with handcrafted pixel game art

Step into Cthulhu's temple and awaken the Great Old One!

Overall it's a good idle game. There comes a point where you need a certain amount of accrued delirium (all that you earned that run). That part is rough, especially because it doesn't tell you anywhere your total outside of the constellations screen. Honestly, there are not enough ads (never thought I'd say that). I'd have liked to watch an add to get some elder blood. Better yet would have been watch an ad for some delirium gain & sigil effects. The coin is just not worth it.

It's starting to get old. I've been playing this game for years. Sometimes I sit on one game instance for weeks at a time, and never even come close to advancing in the Dragon Nebula. I have upgraded EVERYTHING possible. The next power upgrades are in the multi trillions. The gap between then and now is a vast desert. The fun has been sucked out. Update: still no late-game balancing update months after being told one is coming. Soul taps and sigils do almost nothing to increase collection.

Thanks for the honest feedback. We know the gap can feel brutal. A major balancing overhaul is coming soon (details in our latest dev diary), aimed at speeding up progression—especially for first-time Leviathan Nebula players—and making soul taps much more impactful. We're constantly tweaking based on feedback.

Slow as all heck. I wish idle games would take notes from Idle Research on what fun progression looks like. Edit: Slow progression will always feel terrible regardless of the care put into it because it is BORING pointless slog. Also, expecting people to join a discord server for progression tips is also a massive turnoff as it suggests the game doesn't always give enough info to players to figure out The Intended Way(TM) to progress.

Our game isn’t a generic, fast-paced dopamine clicker. Its pacing and balance have been refined over years with continuous community feedback. Giving one star just because it feels slow doesn’t fairly reflect the care behind it. For tips, you’re welcome to ask our active community on Reddit or Discord.
