The words hidden in every grid are English words, and they are not translated. The app itself - menus, settings, results - is available in 15 languages.

Wordtide is a calm word search. Every grid hides eight to ten words from one theme: Ocean, Bakery, Birds, Mountain, and twenty more. Drag your finger across a line of letters and the word is struck out. Words run in any of eight directions and they cross each other, so the grid is a puzzle rather than a list.

The letters around the words are not random padding: they are drawn from the same letters the theme's own words use, so there are no clumps to give the answers away.

• DAILY - the same grid for everyone, once a day, a new theme every day. Beat the clock, keep your streak, share your result without spoiling it.
• LEVELS - 800 grids, from a gentle 6x6 where every word reads left to right, up to a 12x12 where they run backwards and diagonally.
• ENDLESS - a random grid in any of three sizes. Its code sits on the board: send it to a friend and you both play the identical grid.
