"It's too loud." Nobody takes that seriously.
Footsteps from upstairs. Road works next door. Voices from the flat below. You cannot sleep, but when you say something, it comes back as "you're too sensitive". Because it sounds like an opinion.
This app turns that noise into numbers. Sound in decibels (dB), vibration in acceleration (m/s2). Then it makes a card with the reading, the time and the graph, and you send it in one tap. To the building manager, the landlord, your family. What did not get through in words gets through when you show it.
1. Numbers anyone can understand
"87 dB" means nothing to most people. This app puts it next to an everyday sound, "about as loud as a lawnmower", and floods the whole screen with colour. Green when it is quiet, red when it can harm your hearing. The seriousness lands before anyone reads the number.
2. A record that builds up changes things
One complaint gets brushed off. A list of dated, timed readings does not. Save each measurement with a note such as "footsteps from upstairs" or "road works next door", and export the lot as CSV. When it happened and how loud it was stay on your phone.
3. Not only sound. Vibration too
The noise that bothers you usually arrives as movement. Footsteps, a washing machine, a building site. Choose sound only, vibration only, or both at once. To measure vibration, lay the phone on the floor or desk and let go. No permission is needed for the motion sensor.
4. And to protect your own ears
From the current level, the app works out how much longer you can safely stay in it today. Choose the NIOSH or OSHA standard. At a concert, on a site, or at a playground, it tells you when to step away. For vibration it uses the EU limit (2002/44/EC).
5. No signal, no sign-up
It works in a basement, on a building site, on a plane. There is no account to create. It starts measuring the moment you open it.
LANGUAGES
Available in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and more. It follows your phone's setting, and you can pick one by hand.
WHAT IT MEASURES
Sound level (dB) / vibration level (m/s2 and dB) / average (Leq), maximum, minimum and peak / L10, L50, L90 / A, C and Z frequency weighting / Fast and Slow time weighting / calibration offset. Light and dark themes.
ABOUT ACCURACY, UP FRONT
A phone microphone is built for speech. Very quiet and very loud sounds are not measured precisely, and phones differ from one another. The accelerometer is the same: the smallest movements are buried in the sensor's own noise, which you can subtract with the zero adjustment in Settings. Readings from this app are an everyday guide, not a legal or official measurement. That is exactly why it puts its effort into telling you how loud something is and how long is safe, not only the number. If you own a dedicated meter, you can match it with the calibration offset.
PRIVACY
Audio and raw motion data are never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. Everything is analysed on the spot, and all that remains is the dB or m/s2 value. Records stay on your device, and there is no account to create.
Start by measuring where you are right now. That number is the first step towards being heard.
