Change your screen brightness with one tap. Choose a preset level, or use Auto mode if your device has a light sensor.

Brightness too dim or not matching your phone’s slider?
On some devices, including some Samsung models, try the Linear brightness scale:
1. Open Brightness and tap the gear icon to open Settings.
2. Tap “Brightness scale”.
3. Select “Linear (compatibility override)” and tap “OK”.
4. Try the brightness buttons again.

Adapt Brightness to your device
The Brightness scale setting offers Automatic, Linear, and Perceptual (gamma-style) options. Custom calibration is also available when needed to help match your presets to your device’s Quick Settings brightness slider. The scale setting is separate from Auto mode, which adjusts brightness to ambient light.

Customize your presets
Press and hold any brightness button to change its value.

Simple and focused
The app requires only one permission: to modify system settings. No ads and no other permissions. Brightness does one thing: it changes your screen brightness.

Ratings and reviews

Latest 9/7/2026 update screwed up all of my settings. My custom percentages are gone, and what's there now isn't accurate at all. If I manage to fix it, I'll update my review again. if not, it deserves one star. -- Edit: I had to change away from the automatic/default Android Brightness scale to linear scale and then set up all of my percentages again. What an annoying update. But it seems okay now.

Galaxy A70, Android 11 here. I would have thought that Samsung would have included this right out of the box, but they didn't. It's the best brightness shortcut ever! I actually use it all the time, and personally prefer the presets rather than the Auto setting, so hopefully it's not using my battery. Awesome job. Thank you. All I need now is the same easy to use app by this author, to boost the volume on this decice, as it's too low when playing music, I find.

Alexy, thank you so much for updating the app to be able to use the gamma scale for brightness! Its a real game changer - now we are able to calibrate and control the brightness at the lower levels. Appreciate it so much. Just a thought, is it possible to consider adding another 3 slots to the presets? Or, allowing the use of a slider to set the brightness level directly (as using the perceptual scale) without the presets? perhaps through a widget?
