About this app

Things have moved on. There’s no longer just a dial to twist when your favourite song comes on, then guard to make sure no one else touches it. With the app, you can crank up the volume from the kitchen and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

It’s using the powers of technology for good, and ultimately with you in control, better playlists for all. And if apps aren’t your thing, you can still use our products without it.

Using the app is simple. Just connect your devices, adjust the volume, and get on with your life. You can fiddle with more detailed adjustments if you’re that way inclined, like equalisers and noise control for headphones – everything is there to help create your perfect fit.

The only real reason I need this app is to control the volume on my Action III (usually connected to AUX source). The app is fine for the most part, but it takes an unreasonably long time to "locate" and connect to my speaker every single time I open the app. I just want to change the volume, and I have to wait.. and wait.. and wait. There's nothing wrong with the connection, firmware & app are up-to-date, it's just slow. I'd happily improve my rating if Marshall ever improves this aspect.

Hi Adam, thanks for the feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be to wait for the app to find your speaker every time you open it. We've shared your comments with the team.

This review isn't entirely about the app, but is part of the problem. Posting here to get attention I didpuse the automatic Bluetooth disconnect. When listening to the speaker and I pause it to focus on something else for more than a couple of minutes, I have to reconnect to the speaker. Give me the damn option to disable the idle timer! I am damn near throwing this speaker (and app) in the trash. It is absolutely not the advertised 20 minute timeout. It is less than ten and more like 5.

Have to uninstall and reinstall to get stack mode to work about once every week. Constantly fails stack mode if I don't. An Emberton II and a Willen II used to stack without hassle. Last few updates causing them to either fail totally or forces one speaker to override the other (either one) no matter what I do and no matter how nearby they are. I try everything up to and including factory resets, checking firmware, resetting BT, even being sure that the device clock is accurate.

Hi Craig. Sorry to hear this. We recommend resetting both speakers and reinstalling the app. If the issue continues, please contact us via the Marshall.com “Contact Us” page so we can assist further.

What’s new

Some people say you should celebrate your imperfections. Others say, you should sort the bugs out in your app because it makes it really hard to use. So, we did.
