— What makes Kaia different —

Most AI apps send your messages to a server. Kaia doesn't. Every chat, every translation, every voice command runs locally on your phone using Google's Gemma 4 model. There's no cloud round-trip, no account to create, no subscription to remember, and no telemetry following you around.

— What you can do —

• Chat. Ask Kaia anything: draft an email, plan a trip, summarize a PDF, explain a concept. The model thinks on your device.

• Translate. 30+ languages, fully offline. Quick mode for typed text. Conversation mode for back-and-forth across two languages, with voice input and audio replies.

• Talk to it. Speak instead of typing. Kaia transcribes, replies, and reads its answer back. Audio never leaves the device.

• Bring your own search (optional). Want fresh web results? Drop in a free API key from Tavily or Brave. Off by default; you decide when Kaia reaches the network.

• Personas. Save custom system prompts per chat. Coding coach, writing editor, study tutor — whatever you need.

— How it stays private —

• No accounts. No sign-up screens, no email collection, no "trust us" privacy policy. There's nothing to trust because there's nothing leaving.

• No cloud. The model lives in your phone's storage. Inference runs on the device's CPU or GPU.

• No tracking. No analytics SDKs, no advertising IDs, no telemetry.

• No surprise backups. Chat history and model files are excluded from iCloud and Google Auto Backup by default.

— Under the hood —

Built on Google's LiteRT-LM runtime and the Gemma 4 family of on-device models. Picks the right backend for your hardware (Metal GPU on iPhone, GPU or CPU on Android). The default Gemma 4 E2B runs comfortably on iPhone 15 and modern flagship Android. Larger models are available for more capable hardware.
