About this app

Autoentic is a professional field tool for verifying vehicle paint thickness against factory specifications. It is used by automotive professionals who need objective evidence that a vehicle's coating is factory-original or has been refinished.

Autoentic is a B2B tool. Consumer use is not supported.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Pair a DeFelsko PosiTector Bluetooth probe with the app.
2. Decode the vehicle VIN (camera scan or manual entry).
3. Walk the panels and capture coating-thickness readings — the app tracks per-panel statistics in real time.
4. Submit the session to Autoentic's scoring engine. The backend computes a Factory Originality Confidence Score (FOCS) for each panel and the vehicle as a whole, against a database of factory coating specifications.
5. The result is a tamper-evident digital certification record that can be shared with customers, lenders, or insurers.

WHAT YOU NEED

• A compatible DeFelsko PosiTector probe — currently 6000 FN3 (ferrous metal) and 200 PRB200B (non-metal: plastic, fiberglass)
• An Android tablet (Pixel Tablet recommended) or Android phone
• A connection to the Autoentic backend (your shop's account)
• Access provisioned by Autoentic LLC — request access at https://autoentic.com/request-access

OUTPUT

Each completed session produces:
• A FOCS score from 0 to 100 per panel and a grade per vehicle
• A hash-chained record stored on Autoentic's servers
• A shareable certification artifact for the end customer

PRIVACY

Autoentic collects only what is needed to operate the tool — probe serial, vehicle VIN, paint measurements, technician name and phone, and session location. Data is encrypted in transit. Full policy at https://autoentic.com/privacy.

What’s new

First update since May.

• Panels reading unusually thick now ask for extra readings, so the score has enough data to judge them fairly.
• Clearer on-screen and spoken guidance while measuring, including a reminder to spread readings across each panel.
• Inspection results now explain why a grade was given.
• Fixed a case where going back to measure more panels could create a duplicate inspection record.
• Future fixes can now reach you without a full app update.
