Two card games that have outlived every fad: Klondike, the one everyone means by "solitaire", and Spider, the one that keeps you up. Both are here, both work with the aeroplane mode switch on, and neither asks who you are.
KLONDIKE
Seven columns, four foundations, exactly as you remember it. Draw one card at a time, or three if you want the harder game. Turn on "winnable deals only" and a solver checks the shuffle before it reaches you - so a game you cannot win is a game you never see.
SPIDER
Ten columns and two decks. Start with one suit while you learn the shape of it, move to two when that stops being interesting, and take on all four when you want to lose a few evenings.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
No account. No sign-up. No email address, ever - the game opens and deals. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to. Your games, statistics and streak sit on your phone and go when the app does.
There are no full-screen ads. Not between games, not after a win, nowhere. One small banner sits on the menu, and a video only ever plays if you deliberately tap for a hint, an extra undo or an easier deal. If even the banner annoys you, one payment removes it for good - it unlocks nothing else, because nothing else is locked.
WHILE YOU PLAY
- Tap a card to send it home; drag to move a run
- Undo as far back as you like
- A hint when the table stops making sense
- Score, moves and a clock, or ignore all three
- Statistics per game and difficulty: games won, best time, best score
- A daily streak, for whatever that is worth
- Close it mid-deal and it is waiting where you left it
