About this app

TaskForge is a DOCUMENT & FILE MANAGEMENT app for Markdown task files used with Obsidian. Its core purpose is to LOCATE, READ, EDIT, and ORGANIZE Markdown (.md) task files across user-selected folders in shared storage (internal, SD card, or sync folders). To do this, TaskForge requires Android's special "All files access" (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE). Without this permission, the app cannot perform its core file-management functions.

FILE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

TaskForge functions as a specialized FILE MANAGER for your Markdown task files. The app must:
• Read files in user-selected folders (outside app storage)
• Process large, nested folders with many Markdown files
• Write updates back to ORIGINAL files when you create, edit, or complete tasks
• Monitor files for real-time changes

WHY "ALL FILES ACCESS" IS NEEDED
Obsidian vaults can live anywhere (internal storage, SD card, 3rd-party sync roots). To provide persistent, real-time file management across these locations, TaskForge requests MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE and operates on the folder you choose. We DO NOT upload or collect your files; data stays on device.

Just what I needed. Beautiful UI compared to similar apps and it's much more integrated with tasks than markor or other markdown editors Free tier not being able to use widgets is annoying though, I would have at least wanted to see how my tasks would look in the widget before having to purchase it. On that note - premium pricing is extremely reasonable, keep this pricing model for sure

This is actually an amazing app, and a very good way to quickly pull your tasks on the go and tackle them quickly. It's also very lean and fast. Can be set up in under a minute, and everything is cleanly visible. However, for privacy, I would want a mode where I can select no internet mode so this app makes zero api calls ever. And I'm not sure but it's not picking custom tags? I don't see my tags. And maybe an option to only pull tasks from a folder or from a file?

PERFECT MD FILES COMPANION - Task Manager - GREAT app to manage tasks, events, projects. best thing about is that u can use inline tasks or/and file based task so u r free to choose. bought the lifetime license while on trial, it's that worth it. also it offered different ( cheaper) pricing when I added my credit card . so thank so much for making this app and keep up the great work
