The SAAQ knowledge test for the class 5 driver's licence has 28 questions across three parts, and you need 75% in EACH of the three, never on average. Failing a single part fails the test, and only the failed part is retaken. Almost no app in the category simulates that format: the 2022-03-07 version of the SAAQ policy had 64 questions, and many still follow it.
WHAT IS IN THE APP
▸ 635 corrected questions, in French and in English, across the three official parts: Highway Safety Code, Signs and signals, Specialisation
▸ Every answer cites its section of the Highway Safety Code: you know where the rule comes from, and you can check it
▸ The directory of Quebec's 181 road signs, sorted by family, with their spaced-repetition cards
▸ Every question can be read aloud, question and choices, as at the SAAQ test, and every explanation too: 7,628 audio clips in French and in English that work without internet
▸ 121 questions illustrated with a driving scene you can enlarge with a tap, as at the test
▸ Mock test in the real format, timed, scored part by part the way the SAAQ does it
▸ Custom test: your topic, your question count, your difficulty level
▸ Practice by part and by topic, across seventeen topics
▸ Smart review, which comes back to the questions you keep getting wrong
▸ The 12 steps of the road to a class 5 licence, from phase 1 to the probationary licence
▸ 65 revision facts, each citing its section, across 3 sheets, one per part
▸ Interface in French, English, Arabic, Spanish and Chinese. Questions are played in French and English, the two languages the SAAQ offers the test in to everyone; in Arabic, Spanish and Mandarin it offers it only to new residents who ask for it.
IF YOU ARE ARRIVING FROM ABROAD
Quebec has licence exchange agreements with only twelve jurisdictions. If your country is not one of them, you sit the knowledge test and the road test, without being required to take the driving course. This app was built for that path, which is why its interface exists in the five languages of the class 5 knowledge test, while its questions are played in the two that are offered without a request.
ABOUT THE RESULTS
The app gives your success rate per part and how it moves over time, with the official 75% threshold marked on each part. Its readiness indicator is the app's own: it is not a test result and says nothing about how the SAAQ will assess you.
