About this app

HAdo brings your Home Assistant to-do lists directly to your Android home screen with a fast, customizable widget and full-screen list editor.

★ KEY FEATURES

• Home Screen Widget — View and manage your to-do lists without opening the full app
• Multi-List Support — Show multiple Home Assistant to-do lists in a single widget
• Full-Screen Editor — Tap a list to open a focused editor for adding, checking, reordering, and reviewing items
• Quick Add & Drag to Reorder — Add items fast and rearrange them with drag handles
• Due Dates & Times — Set deadlines with overdue highlighting
• Markdown Descriptions — Add rich-text notes to your items
• Customizable Appearance — Adjust font size, opacity, compact mode, and per-list icons (MDI, emoji, or custom image)
• Material You — Follows your system theme with dynamic color, light mode, and dark mode
• Optional Local Mode — Use HAdo as a standalone to-do app even without Home Assistant

★ PRIVACY FIRST

HAdo connects directly to your Home Assistant instance. No cloud, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Your data stays between your phone and your Home Assistant server.

★ SECURE

OAuth2 authentication uses Home Assistant’s built-in auth flow. Tokens are stored securely with Android EncryptedSharedPreferences. Long-lived access token fallback is also supported.

★ REQUIREMENTS

• Android 13 (API 33) or higher
• Home Assistant instance for sync features, or use Local Mode without Home Assistant

HAdo is open source. Visit our GitHub for the source code and privacy policy.

What’s new

• New item position: choose whether added items land at the top or bottom of a list, matching the Home Assistant web UI
• Checkbox-only mode in the app: only the checkbox marks an item done, while tapping a row opens its details
• Auto-hide completed items: keep the completed section collapsed when you open a list
• Widget item details now open as a popup over your home screen instead of opening the app, with in-place editing of title, description, and due date
