FinX is a private budget and expense tracker built around one question: where does your money actually go? Track income and spending, add expenses by voice, scan receipts, set savings goals, and read clear reports in a fast, native Android app that works completely offline.

Most finance apps quietly move your transactions to their servers. FinX lets you decide where your ledger physically lives: in a database on your phone, on the open-source FinX server running on your own hardware, or in our optional managed cloud. Whichever you pick, every transaction stays exportable and yours. A short guided setup gets you from install to first entry in under a minute.

- Local Mode: your ledger is a database on your phone. There is no signup, and nothing to leak from a server that was never involved
- Self-Hosted Mode: the FinX server is open source on GitHub. Run it on a Raspberry Pi or VPS and audit every line it executes
- Managed Mode (optional): zero-setup cloud sync hosted by us, for multi-device without running a server
- Speech recognition for voice entry runs on the device; your audio never leaves it
- The app contains no advertising ID and shares nothing with data brokers

Is FinX free? Yes. Budgeting, savings goals, reports, recurring transactions, voice entry, and offline use are free forever, with no ads.
Do I need an account? No. Local Mode works fully on your device with no signup.
Does FinX sell my data? No. In Local and Self-Hosted modes your transactions never reach us at all, so there is nothing we could sell.
Can I sync across devices? Yes. Self-host for free, or use optional FinX Pro managed sync.
Does voice entry send my audio anywhere? No. Speech is recognized on your phone; only the text you confirm becomes a transaction.
Is the server open source? Yes. Run your own FinX backend from GitHub.

What’s new

NEW: A guided welcome tour for first-time users: name your first account, try voice entry, enable location reminders and notification capture, and choose your AI preference.
