BarePod is a podcast & radio app that stays out of your way with no accounts, no ads and no algorithm tracking your usage.

• Follow podcasts from PodcastIndex.org's full open directory, or browse by genre
• Tune into internet radio stations from Radio Browser, and save your favorites
• Build playlists with a named ordered episode collections you control
• Add your own audio files as local tracks, right alongside your subscriptions
• Smart, queue-aware downloads with a configurable storage cap that respects your device and your data plan
• Sleep timer, adjustable skip amounts, playback speed control, and Clear Speech for dialogue-forward listening
• “Listening Insights”: a private heatmap and streak view of your own habits, visible only to you
• A “For You” tab that surfaces new shows based on what you already follow with no engagement algorithm with just your own taste reflected back
• Undo is available on nearly every destructive action, with a few seconds to change your mind
• Four background themes: Black, Charcoal, Stone, and Warm
PRIVACY
There's no backend behind BarePod. No account to create, no login, no analytics SDK, no tracking of any kind. Every show you follow, every episode you download, and every minute you listen stays in a local database on your phone. It is never saved on a server, because there is no server.

The only network calls BarePod ever makes are the two things it can't do offline: a podcast search against PodcastIndex.org's open directory, and a station lookup against Radio Browser. Nothing ever leaves your device.

FAQ
1Q) Do I need an account? No. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing tied to your identity.
2Q) Does it work offline? Downloaded episodes and local files play with no connection at all. Discovering new shows, streaming live radio and refreshing feeds need a connection, same as any podcast app.
3Q) Can I add my own audio files? Yes. “Local Files” lets you drop your own tracks alongside your podcast subscriptions.
4Q) What happens to my data if I uninstall? It's gone, because it was only ever on your device. There's no server copy to delete, since there never was one.
5Q) How much storage do downloads use? You control it and set your own storage cap and BarePod manages downloads to stay within it automatically.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
Most podcast apps ask you to create an account before anything works with a server somewhere holding your subscriptions, your history, your habits. BarePod doesn't. There's no account to create because there's nothing on our end to attach it to. No data breach to worry about, no listening data sold to advertisers, no algorithmic feed deciding what you hear next.
Built and maintained by independent developers who wanted a podcast app that respected the listener as much as the listening.
