STEPN is a Web3 running app with fun game and social elements.
Users equip themselves with NFTs in the form of sneakers. By walking, jogging or running outdoors, users will collect GSTs and NFTs.

Ratings and reviews

Very difficult to get a code to use the app. You have to join a Discord server AND wait for codes to be sent out, which are usually used in seconds by others trying to hawk the codes too. What makes things harder is that after you confirm your email address, if you don't get a join code that works within several minutes, you need to confirm your email again. Lastly, the STEPN servers were attacked during my 2 days with them, leading to a loss in tracked data and loss on various, material items.

Way too expensive. They nickel and dime you constantly. The tracking is super inconsistent. Trying to upgrade a gem costs 50 gst, 3 matching gems and has 75% chance of failure. They change the rules and costs of things constantly. I have 5 pairs of sneakers and don't make any money. edited to update - I didn't use it for a while now I need an activation code the app has links to Instagram and discord etc neither work so I can't log in to my account at all anymore.

Better invest in yourself since this is not worth it. The app is simple and has some great basic ui. The main functionality as tracking lacks reliability as it is not able to work without keeping the phone unlocked at all times. It's impossible to walk around clicking on the screen to keep it alive just to earn some tokens instead of actually working out. They have a long way to go, not production ready anyway. The intention is amazing and i really hope it blows up (in a good way). Good luck!
