PadVibe is a drum pad and beat maker app that turns your phone or tablet into an 8x8 grid of 64 pads. Tap one-shots, start loops and shape them live with your fingers. No project setup and no menus to dig through: open the app, touch a pad and you are already making music.
Practice finger drumming, build your first hip-hop, trap or electronic beat, jam over a track or warm up before a set. Everything stays on one screen.
🎹 64 PADS ON AN 8x8 GRID
Eight sound rows with eight pads each:
• DRUM: kicks, snares and hats
• PERC: percussion hits
• BASS: basslines and sub tones
• KEYS: piano and chord stabs
• LEAD: synth leads and melodies
• BEAT: full rhythm parts
• GROOVE: rolling background loops
• VOCAL: vocal chops and shouts
The row order is the same in every kit, so switching kits never breaks your muscle memory. Full multi-touch lets you play with all ten fingers.
🎧 FOUR BUILT-IN KITS
• Neon Pads (128 BPM): bright, energetic electronic sounds
• Loop City (124 BPM): every row is a loop, so you can layer eight parts
• Half Time (90 BPM): heavy, head-nodding hip-hop and trap
• Dry Hits (140 BPM): every row is a one-shot, for pure finger drumming
Each kit has its own tempo and loop map and ships inside the app. Nothing to download, nothing to unlock.
🎛️ ARRANGE WHILE YOU PLAY
• Quantize: OFF, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 or 1 BAR. At 1 BAR, loops enter on the downbeat and stay locked together.
• Swing: move the groove from straight to shuffled.
• Four scenes: store a live loop combination and recall it with one tap. Intro, build, drop or break: you decide.
🎚️ EIGHT PERFORMANCE KNOBS
VOL, BPM, SWING, VELO, PITCH, DELAY, STUT and ROLL.
• Tempo from 60 to 200 BPM, pitch up or down by 12 semitones
• Delay, stutter and roll for live transitions
• A separate LEVEL knob for each of the eight rows, to balance the mix while it plays
Your settings are kept after a restart, and RESET brings back the defaults in one move.
✨ XY EFFECT SURFACE
The horizontal axis controls playback rate and pitch, the vertical axis controls level. Create tape-stop slowdowns, octave sweeps and sudden drops. Lift your finger and both values return to neutral.
🌀 ROLL AND GLIDE
• Roll: hold a one-shot pad for a tempo-locked 1/8 or 1/16 run.
• Glide: slide your finger across the grid to play from pad to pad. The gaps between pads count toward the nearest pad, so no hit is lost.
🥁 METRONOME
The click has its own level slider, accents the first beat of each bar and is not affected by the performance effects.
🎵 TWO RECORDING MODES
• PAD mode never uses the microphone. Every hit, loop and effect move is mixed down to a 44.1 kHz, 16-bit stereo WAV file: no room noise, exactly what you heard. Up to 5 minutes per take.
• MIC mode records through the microphone in m4a format.
Rename, play back, share or delete any take right from the list.
🎶 PLAY OVER BACKING TRACKS
Five backing tracks are built in, and you can add your own audio files with the system file picker. The app never scans your music library and asks for no media permission.
