Accessibility Service Usage: BePresent uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when you open apps during active focus sessions. The service monitors window state changes to identify which app is in the foreground — no screen content, text, keystrokes, or personal data is accessed. This information is processed locally on your device to display a reminder screen that encourages you to stay focused. No data collected through the Accessibility Service is stored, transmitted, or shared with any third party. You can enable or disable this permission at any time in your device's Accessibility settings.

Ratings and reviews

Don't even bother trialing this app. It doesn't do anything worth paying $60 for. My phone came with free digital wellness settings that work better. I had planned to cancel but got charged before I could. I emailed the creators asking for a refund but didn't hear back. Now it's not even blocking the apps I asked it to block. Wish I had read the reviews before trialing it. Edit: I heard back from the creators and was able to get a refund! They were very kind about it.

Love the idea, and I feel like it really is helping me cut back on my screen time, but I signed up for the 7 day free trial, stupidly thought they would warn me that my trial is up, but no. Just got charged $70 with no warning. I was considering buying the app, but was going to look into the price first. Guess not... Very unhappy about that.

The pricing is too steep, and asking for a rating and phone control before actually trying it out (or disclosing that it's $60/year) is low. The app should also allow a monthly tier. Three stars because the concept is great, but it needs some tweaking before I can give it five stars. I'll leave it on my phone for now, see if anything changes.
