About this app

Measure frequency with camera in Hertz or RPM. Decode blinking LED status of industrial automation equipment. Frequency measurement ranges from 0.25 Hz to 30 Hz or 15 BPM / RPM to 1800 BPM / RPM. The Frequency Meter App use camera to measure frequency: just point camera at blinking object (source of light or rotating mechanism)

Use cases:

This seems to be a pretty good app, I think really the biggest limitation is our phones camera, and the measuring apparatus. There are no ads :) . I do suggest adding a bit more UI to the screen where it measures the hz and rpm, give it an indicator of when its processing and when it has come to a result, or something like that anyway, maybe a reset button? Anyway, its cool and simple.

Thank you for your detailed review, it’s a pleasure to read. Some of the proposed features are already in development. I’ll take note of the rest of your suggestions and rethink the interface.

I needed to see how fast several ceiling fans were rotating before and after I replaced the capacitors which control their speed. This app worked perfectly. It's not pretty or flashy, but it works. I put my phone on a table beneath the ceiling fans and opened the app and measured for 15 seconds. It gave me accurate rpms and proved the new caps were working.

Awesome! Not only the dominant frequency is determined, but a breakdown of all the frequencies as a real time FFT (Fast Fourier Transform).
