A handy app to have if you're in the forces however I don't use it all that often. Here's why: The amount of times the mobile app crashes is ridiculous, and usually at opportune times of programmes. Football, for example...the app crashes a lot whenever there's a major incident. I don't know whether the servers get overloaded but I feel the app requires far more support than it has currently and although the website I use on my laptop crashes too, it does so on a far fewer number of occasions.

Hi James, thanks for your feedback. We've recently made significant upgrades to stabilise the service. I would be really interested to hear any feedback or error reports. Please contact servicedesk@bfbs.com so we can resolve any future issues on your device. Thanks

Was a useful app but recent loss of casting for all TV (not just sort) renders the app pointless. This means a family overseas cannot watch shows together on a screen. We'd bought a Google cast specially to be able to watch together. We were advised to buy another device. Tbh we may as use a subscription service or have a vpn instead.

Hi Stephen, unfortunately casting functionality is limited under digital rights management. This copyright protection allows content to be viewed but not shared for risk of piracy. You can still watch our services on the big screen with the family by downloading our free app on Fire, Roku, Apple TV or Android info at https://www.bfbs.com/tv-player

Works far better than the computer-based web-page which frequently has no connection due to 502 bad gateway. I use this app to watch all UK football, rugby and other sports as I am assigned overseas. If it crashes, it's usually due to a login failure which can be resolved by logging in to the Defence Gateway on the same device.
