About this app

Capture ideas without handing your recordings to a server.

Voxellum is a local-first voice-note app for Android. It saves audio before transcription begins, so a speech-engine problem never discards a successful recording. When Android's on-device speech service supports your language, Voxellum transcribes locally. If transcription is unavailable, your audio remains playable and your note stays editable.

Speak, shape, and save
• Record with a clear timer plus pause, resume, finish, and cancel controls.
• Turn a transcript into one of six useful formats: Clear note, Action list, Message, Outline, Journal, or Verbatim.
• Keep both the original transcript and an editable polished note.
• Import supported audio from Android Files or another app.

Find anything again
• Search note titles and text on your device.
• Add tags, mark favorites, archive notes, and sort your library.
• Move notes to Trash, restore them, or delete them permanently.
• Play the audio connected to each note.

Use your words where you need them
• Copy or share a note with Android's standard share sheet.
• Export an individual note or your complete library as Markdown.
• Enable the optional Voxellum keyboard to dictate into compatible text fields. Dictation is blocked in password and other sensitive fields.

Local-first by design
• No account.
• No ads or advertising ID.
• No analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
• No cloud sync or silent cloud fallback.
• No INTERNET permission in this release.

Recordings, transcripts, edited notes, tags, and settings stay in app-private storage unless you deliberately import, export, copy, or share something. You can export your library or permanently erase local notes and recordings from Settings.

On-device transcription availability and supported languages depend on your Android device and its installed speech services. Always review generated text before relying on or sending it, and obtain any consent required before recording other people.
