Enter your UK postcode, choose your address, and BinMate looks up the bin collection days your council publishes. Your next collection sits at the top of the home screen in its own colour, with the rest of your schedule underneath.

What BinMate does

Set-up takes a postcode
Type your postcode, pick your address from the list, and that is it. BinMate reads the collection dates your council publishes, so there is nothing to enter by hand and nothing to keep up to date yourself. Coverage depends on the council, and councils change their systems from time to time, so try your postcode and you will know in seconds. Whether your council calls it rubbish, refuse or general waste, your bin collection schedule ends up in one place.

A bin reminder that arrives on time
The evening reminder is free, and you choose 6pm, 7pm or 8pm. On Android 12 and newer, BinMate can use exact alarms so your bin collection reminder arrives at the time you picked rather than somewhere in the following hour. The app shows you how to switch that on.

BinMate Pro
Your full schedule and one evening reminder stay free. BinMate Pro is an optional yearly subscription that adds:
• A bin day reminder on the morning of collection, as well as the night before
• Reminder times you set yourself, and separate rules for different bins
• "Bins are out" and "Remind me in 30 minutes" buttons on the reminder itself
• The home screen widget, in two sizes and four colours, so your next bin collection is on your home screen
• Tick each bin off as it goes out, and undo it if you were too quick

Common questions
When is my bin day? Open BinMate and it is the first thing on the screen, with the day, the date and which bins go out.
Does it cover my council? BinMate looks up councils across the UK. Coverage is per council, so enter your postcode and you will see straight away.
Do I need an account? No. There is no sign-up and no login.
Will it remind me on the morning of bin day? The evening-before reminder is free. The collection-day morning reminder is part of BinMate Pro.
Is there a home screen widget? Yes, with BinMate Pro: two sizes, four colours, and a tap opens that day's collection.
Does it work without a connection? Your saved schedule and your reminders carry on working offline. Looking up a new address needs a connection.

BinMate is a bin collection app for UK households who can never remember whether it is recycling or general waste this week: busy parents, renters, homeowners, and anyone who has heard the lorry go past a bin that never went out.

Privacy
