About this app

Messtro is a mess manager for shared households, hostels and bachelor messes — one shared record for meals, bazar, bills and the mess fund, so who owes what settles itself every month.

Every mess runs on the same three arguments: who ate how many meals, who did the bazar, and who still owes money. Messtro answers all three from data every member can see, updated live.

MEALS AND THE MEAL RATE
• Record daily meals on a shared calendar — full meals, half meals (0.5) and guest meals.
• The meal rate is calculated automatically — the month's total bazar divided by total meal-units eaten. You pay for exactly what you ate, and nothing more.
• Skipping dinner? Cancel it in advance and you are not charged — and the dashboard shows the real headcount for whoever's around to tell the cook.

BAZAR
• Every grocery run is recorded against the month, so it counts toward the meal rate.
• Paid from your own pocket? Mark yourself the payer — you are credited back in full while still owing only your own share.
• Keep a bazar duty rotation and a weekly menu, so nobody has to ask "whose turn tomorrow?" again.

BILLS AND EXPENSES
• Set up rent, internet, gas and electricity once. Fixed bills pre-fill their amount; variable ones you enter each month.
• A paid bill splits equally across members, in the month it is paid.
• One-off shared expenses split across only the members who took part.

THE MESS FUND
• The manager records each member's deposit. The dashboard shows cash in hand and where every member stands — in credit, or owing.
• Members can transfer balance to each other instantly.

MEMBERS AND APPROVALS
• Whoever creates the mess is its manager. Everyone else joins with the invite code.
• Members submit meals, bazar, payments and expenses; the manager approves them. Nothing changes the books behind anyone's back — every entry records who added it and who approved it.

CLOSING THE MONTH
• Close the month to lock the numbers. Unsettled balances carry forward as next month's opening, and a permanent monthly summary is saved.
• Share the settlement as a clean image straight into your mess group chat — or share your own personal month card.

FREE AND PREMIUM
The free plan is fully functional — a mess can run on it indefinitely. Premium is for bigger, busier messes: co-managers, one-day menu overrides, bazar coordination lists, member self-service requests, monthly PDF reports, member polls, vendor credit accounts, a higher member limit and a longer history window.
