Disappointing. I prefer Audible. Downpour tricks you into thinking it's cheaper than audible, but it's not. It is $13/month, $2 cheaper than Audible, but so many of the books cost 2 credits when the same book is only 1 credit at Audible. You're paying more. The app interface is basic, you can't search the store which is a pain. The selection isn't very good either. It's a rip off. Go to the library or go to Audible.
stops if I run other applications while listening. Also you can't shop from App but have to go up online site
Works well but has a minor bug It's been working well for me, except for one bug: It often skips the last 10 or 15 seconds of a track and jumps to the next one. I chose Downpour over Audible because Downpour does not use DRM technology.
Battery killer Nice app but it drains the battery faster than an elephant empties a fish bowl, even when it's not playing. I was on, but not playing when I was charging over night but the charge only went up to 55% and the phone was very hot. The battery has dropped 5% just wile typing this short review (not playing a audio book). Ivm not sure if I will finish my rental before uninstalling this app.
Great to rent audio, but glitchy One of the few apps to rent audio books, but the app has a few problems and rental selections could be expanded. The app will sometimes stop playing and will only start back after rebooting the phone. The app will also drain the battery, even when paused and exited, requiring the user to reboot or kill the process from the Settings. LG Flex.
Simply does the job I listen to my audible books while driving. It takes just seconds to select my material from my cellphone and listen through my car speakers using Bluetooth.
