About this app
Do you own a boat, ship, sailboat, yacht, canoe, kayak, or any other vessel? Do you enjoy traveling by your own boat but worry about getting lost? This app turns your phone into a powerful GPS navigation system for the sea.
Built on Google Maps Android API v2, the app lets you save and manage boat locations and routes, navigate to them with ease, and record routes for later review and analysis. For saved routes, you can navigate from your current position to the start, the end, or follow the entire route.
All locations and routes are displayed on the map: each location appears as a marker, and each route is shown as a line connecting two markers (start and end).
The app also includes a magnetic compass, tools to find addresses from coordinates and coordinates from map clicks, the ability to measure straight-line distances using coordinates or by clicking on the map, and real-time information such as longitude, latitude, speed, altitude, bearing, and full address (street, city, state, ZIP code, country, etc.).
You can see your current location on the map using the GPS provider, making navigation safe, accurate, and easy.
Features:
1. Find an address using coordinates.
Enter the longitude and latitude to see the location marked on the map. Tap the marker to view the full address.
2. Find coordinates by clicking on the map.
Tap anywhere on the map to place a marker. Tap the marker to see the coordinates and the full address.
3. Magnetic Compass.
4. Real-time location information.
Get your current location in real time using the GPS provider. You can view longitude, latitude, altitude, accuracy, bearing, speed, provider, and the full address at the time and distance intervals you select in the settings.
5. Measure straight-line distances.
Calculate the distance between two points using coordinates, or between two or more points by tapping on the map. You can save and manage measured distances.
6. Save and manage boat locations.
Save your boat’s location in real time using the GPS provider, by entering coordinates, or by tapping on the map. You can also navigate to a specific saved boat location.
7. Save and manage boat routes.
Record and plan your boat routes, including title, notes, starting longitude and latitude, ending longitude and latitude, start time, arrival time, duration, distance, maximum speed, average speed, and saved/updated date. Routes can be stored for later review and analysis. You can navigate from your current location to the start, to the end, or follow the entire route.
8. View all boat locations on the map.
Each saved location appears as a marker. Tap a marker to view detailed boat information.
9. View all boat routes on the map.
Each route appears as two markers connected by a line (start and end points). Tap a marker to view route information.
10. Settings.
A variety of settings allow you to customize the application to suit your needs.
