Sandojang is a free hiking app featuring 4,206 mountains and 4,663 peaks across the country.

Once you download the national map, it remains visible even in the mountains where the signal is lost.

When you reach a summit, a stamp is automatically placed via GPS, and the guidebook fills up one section at a time.

■ Main Features

🥾 Guide to the Peaks of the 100 Famous Mountains

Includes 4,206 mountains and 4,663 peaks nationwide.

It collects the peaks of a single mountain one by one, such as the 34 peaks of Bukhansan or the 20 peaks of Geumjeongsan.

The rankings are divided into 🥇 100 of the 100 Famous Mountains · 🥈 304 High Mountains · 🥉 3,802 Nearby Mountains.

For each mountain, the distance and elevation gain of the hiking course are listed (6,457 items).

Mountains with multiple courses are listed in order of shortest to longest, allowing you to choose a course that suits your condition for the day.

📍 Automatic Summit Verification

A stamp is automatically applied when you enter the radius of a peak.

It checks both GPS quality and movement speed to filter out invalid verifications.

Since verification is done solely via GPS without photos, camera permissions are not required.

🗺️ My Conquest Map

The peaks you have conquered and the paths you have walked are displayed together on a national map.

You can filter your progress by All / Conquered / Unconquered, allowing you to both show off and plan your progress.

📖 Stories of the Mountains

We have included over 3,800 stories selected from the Korea Forest Service's public data.

From the rock where Great Monk Wonhyo meditated, to the origin of Samobawi Rock, and peak names derived from Bodhisattva Samantabhadra.

🏃 Exercise Log

Press Start to record your route, distance, altitude, and steps.

Recording continues even when the screen is off, and persists even if the app is force-closed.

View the day's ascents and descents at a glance with the altitude graph. Days without passing a peak remain as a 'stroll' — even a lap around the neighborhood counts as a record.

📶 Offline Hiking Maps

Communication cuts off in the mountains.

If you download the national map (approx. 35MB) once when you first launch the app, the map will be visible even without a signal.

To view hiking trails in detail, you can download the 97 regions of the 100 Famous Mountains separately (1-5MB per location).

We recommend downloading via Wi-Fi.

🆘 Mountain Safety

· Real-time display of National Location Numbers — This number informs 119 of your location in the mountains where there is no fixed address. It calculates your location even without a signal.

· 119 Text/Call Button — The National Location Number and coordinates are automatically sent via text message.

· Displays over 9,600 mountain safety facilities, such as shelters and dangerous sections, on the map.

🏅 Activity Stamps

30 types, including First Record, Cumulative Distance, Continuous Activity, Seasonal Hiking, Regional Exploration, and Completion of Multiple Peaks. You can receive records even for walks where you haven't reached a peak, and you will be notified via an alert when a new one is received.

📤 Auto-Save GPX

When you finish a workout, a GPX file is saved to the Downloads/sandojang folder (On by default; can be turned off in the 'Me' tab).

This feature can be used to transfer records to other apps.

🧭 Open Course

You can open GPX course files received from other apps to preview distance and elevation, and overlay them on the map while exercising to follow them.

You will be notified if you stray more than 50 meters from the course you were following.

🛤️ Korea Forest Service Hiking Trails

Korea Forest Service hiking trails are drawn as lines on the map and mountain details screens. Tapping a line displays the trail name and length.

Since the data is based on December 2016, the current paths may differ, so please check the on-site signage as well.

💾 Record Backup

You can export your workout records, walking routes, and collected stamps into a single file, and import them back after changing phones.

You can choose the save location yourself. Photos are not included in the backup file.

■ Permissions

· Location (Required) — Find nearby mountains, record routes, summit verification, National Point Code

The "My Location" button on the home screen and the Conquest Map checks your current location once, and routes are recorded only while you are exercising. Background location permissions are not requested.

If GPX auto-save is enabled, the starting point coordinates may be looked up by your phone's address conversion service to name files with neighborhood names for records without peak stamps. · Physical Activity (Optional) — Step count during exercise
