About this app

Contigga is a transparent parental control app for Android — screen time limits,
app blocking, location tracking, web filtering, and keyword alerts, all visible to
your child, never hidden.

A parent installs Contigga on their own child's Android device to monitor and manage
it, with everything reported to the parent's Contigga dashboard.

WHY "TRANSPARENT"
Contigga is designed to be visible. It always shows its own launcher icon, it shows a
permanent notification on the child's device whenever monitoring is running, and it
includes a "What we monitor" screen the child can open at any time to read exactly what
is collected. Contigga never hides itself — because oversight your child knows about
builds more trust than oversight that depends on secrecy.

Contigga is only for a parent or legal guardian monitoring their own minor
child. It is not for monitoring other adults, partners, employees, or anyone
who has not consented. Monitoring an adult without their knowledge is illegal
in many places and is not a supported use of this app.

WHAT A PARENT CAN DO
• Screen time — see how many minutes each app is used per day, and set daily
limits for all apps or for specific apps.
• App rules — block an app entirely, or allow it only during chosen hours.
• Location — see the device's current and recent location, and set places such
as home or school to be alerted when the child arrives or leaves.
• Web filtering — block website categories or specific sites on the device.
• Keyword alerts — get an alert when words the parent chooses appear in what
the child types or in an incoming message notification.

HOW CONTIGGA USES THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
Contigga uses Android's AccessibilityService API for two purposes, both core to
parental control and both disclosed to the child in the app before the service
is enabled:
1. To see which app is currently on screen, so that app-blocking rules and
screen-time limits can be applied to that app.
2. To check text as it is typed on the device against the keyword list the
parent set up.
When a blocked app is opened, Contigga sends the name of that app and the time
to the parent's dashboard. When typed text matches a parent-defined keyword,
Contigga sends a short snippet of that text (up to 200 characters), the app it
came from, and the time. Contigga does not log or transmit anything else that
is typed. It is not a keylogger, and it never sends full messages.

HOW CONTIGGA USES THE VPN SERVICE
Contigga uses Android's VpnService API to run a content filter on the device
itself. The filter inspects only this device's DNS look-ups locally, in order
to block the website categories and sites the parent chose. No web traffic and
no browsing history is routed to Contigga's servers or to any third party
through this VPN, and no remote VPN endpoint is used. When a site is blocked,
Contigga sends the blocked address and the time to the parent's dashboard so
the parent can see it. Android displays its standard VPN indicator whenever the
filter is active.

WHAT CONTIGGA COLLECTS
Account details the parent enters (parent email address, child's name), device
details (make, model, Android version, app version, battery level), app usage
totals, the list of installed apps, blocked-app attempts, location and place
alerts, blocked-site events, and keyword-match snippets. This data is sent to
Contigga's servers over an encrypted connection and is visible only to the
parent on their account.

WHAT CONTIGGA NEVER DOES
• Never records audio and never requests microphone access.
• Never sends full message text, photos, or general typing.
• Never hides its icon or its monitoring notification.
• Never sells personal data.
