Set it up yesterday. The setup was a bit painful to connect my new ProTerra hybrid water heater. Had to set "stay connected even when no Internet" for the econet wifi network during setup. Connected to my dedicated 2.4 GHz network because of the warnings about incompatibilities with dual band Wi-Fi networks. (This might be why so many people are having issues). So far, it works pretty well. I'm able to control temperature, mode, and see usage.

It's great to have an app for energy monitoring and easy control...... when it works. They're are little snafu's. Was hard to link android (set with my wife iPhone, then my samsung would connect). Sometimes, it forgets to "return to schedule". I would love better data on remaining hot water - Empty or how to program what the water heater does if you use it all..... please flip to high demand!

The app frequently fails to connect even if WiFi is strong. No indication that the thermostat has received the request to change temp. If you want to set a schedule, you must always set 4 times during the day; no less and no more, AND you must set both a start and stop temperature. I would prefer to adjust the temperature manually during the day but ALWAYS set an evening cool down temp. Wish I had kept my Nest.
