this app has alot of problems with boundaries and privacy. it seems to just kind of display anything and everything to whoever decides to look. it also is very stubborn about turning off when the app is closed. it appears to other divices still, and the control buttons wont go away. the only way ive found to prevent this is uninstall the app and re install it when i need it. i appreciate the free service but its not really worh the trouble it comes with...
With the chromecast and NAS environment, this app is absolutely must have. But as I can see, there is a request from several users, and that demand is also associated with me. Audio route option. I know it's a bit clumsy, but at some moments of the day, it's an only solution. Example: The projector has no audio output, only 5W speaker. And it is connected directly to the chromecast. Would like to hear feedback from developer. Tnx.
Excellent DLNA support for audio to wireless HiFi receivers. Only one thing missing: routing Spotify via the BubbleUPnP app to (older types of) wireless HiFi receivers, that lack support for Spotify Connect. In my case, a Marantz Melody 510 (hint :)
To developer - I'm playing large video file (mkv format, 6 GB) from my phone to Chromecast, works gteat but stops every 15 min. (freezes) and I have to restart. Any ideas ? Free space on the phone I have more than enough.
Cannot praise this highly enough. I've found nothing that works better for streaming audio and video from my home server, device, or the web to receivers. Even adding subtitles is easy. Transcoding can be a bit choppy, but other than that, great.
WARNING: The default settings expose all of your phone's files to any DLNA-enabled client on the network! This is a reckless disregard for basic privacy and security. I downloaded this as a client but didn't know it also acts as an open server. Only realized when I noticed I could now access all the media files on my phone from my PS3 under "Bubble UPnP". This can be disabled, but should be BY DEFAULT! Either that, or prompt the user post-install instead of just switching it on automatically. Very sloppy.
