I built Secure Budget because I was tired of spreadsheets and apps that asked me to link my bank account. I just wanted to know: can I afford this? Am I on track this month? Where does my money actually go? How much spending money do I have?
So that's what this app does. You add your bills, set up your income schedule, and log purchases as they happen. The app handles the rest - tracking what's paid, what's coming up, and showing you patterns in how you spend.
The home screen gives you the month at a glance. Bills are organized by due date with one-tap payment tracking. Income shows up on your actual pay dates, not some arbitrary monthly estimate. And everything feeds into analytics that actually make sense.
Speaking of analytics - there are 14 different charts and breakdowns. Spending by category, income vs expenses over time, subscription costs, savings rate. You can toggle them on or off, reorder them, whatever works for you.
A few things worth mentioning:
- Multiple profiles if you want to track different budgets separately
- Dark mode (obviously)
- Export your data anytime as JSON or CSV
- Everything stays on your device - no accounts, no cloud, no tracking
I use this app myself for my own finances. Updates come from real usage and feedback, not some product roadmap designed by committee.
If you've got ideas or run into issues, I actually read the feedback so please let me know.
