None of the series or movies will play on my device. It just says "video playback error." I'm using a Samsung J5. All of the other streaming services work on this phone. i.e. Netflix, Hulu, HBO Now. But this one doesn't. I started with the 7 day free trial and now that trial is wasted because I can't watch anything. If this gets fixed, then I'll change my rating.
I loved being able to watch episodes on my phone! It's hard for me to find a chance to watch my favorite starz originals on tv with my son around. There are some glitches with playback if the show is paused and the phone goes to sleep. Or if you exit the app and reopen it. Otherwise it's great.
STARZ has made the update and corrected the issue. Thank you for your quick responsiveness! This is more of an informative review about the app not working on my Samsung Galaxy S6, which just updated to Nougat 7.0. I changed providers and all of my other movie apps (Showtime, Cinemax, Epix, and HBO) work, but with STARZ I continue to get the error message: "RegistrationCode 4D8X was not found." I've uninstalled and reinstalled three times as well as restarting my phone on the last two installs. I downloaded and logged into the app on my old Samsung Galaxy S4 and it works there and I would think it's an operating system issue, but the STARZ app was working on my phone before the OS update. Any suggestions?
I cannot make it through a show casting to my new Vizio UHD tv without the app crashing and getting my tv booted from the network. I am disappointed because the image quality while casting is the best! I just want to watch a show uninterrupted. I had to switch to stream from my Xbox one. Still HD but not as good as casting.
App does not want to stream to Chromecast most of the time, even after rebooting my tablet, Chromecast, and DSL router. The Starz title screen shows up on the Chromecast and the tablet says it is streaming. A thumbnail image of the episode I want to play loads, then the screen goes black and the Starz logo pops back up on the TV. Definitely not staying past my free preview period because of this. All my other streaming apps cast just fine.
Would only let me play two movies but would let me play all the trailers to the movies. Customer service just kept telling me the same thing over and over. Would not recommend this app to anyone
