Scale Calculator converts lengths through the scale of a drawing, plan or map.

Who this app is for
• Model builders: railways (H0, N, TT, Z, OO), plastic kits, figures, 3D printing
• Architects, builders and students working from drawings and printouts
• Hikers, landowners and anyone measuring distances on a map

What it does
• Converts a real length into the length on a map or model, and back
• Works out the scale from the two lengths given
• Comes with 45 common scales, each under its own name: models 1:1 to 1:700 (H0, N, TT, Z, OO, S, O), architecture 1:20 to 1:500 along with the inch scales (1/4″ = 1′, 1/8″ = 1′) and maps 1:1,000 to 1:1,000,000, including the 1:24,000 USGS sheet
• Keeps a list of the scales used most recently
• Remembers the last settings, so nothing has to be typed in again after a restart
• Shows the scale three ways: 0.02, 2% of full size, or 1 cm = 250 m
• Calculates in millimetres, centimetres, metres, kilometres, inches, feet, yards, miles and nautical miles
• Converts areas and volumes as well, including hectares, acres, litres and millilitres
• Suggests the standard scale for fitting a drawing onto a sheet, from A4 to A0 and from Letter to ARCH E
• Copies the result or passes it on to another app

What’s new

The app now converts areas and volumes as well: the area of a plan or the volume of a model, in square metres, hectares, acres or millilitres.

The scale list has a new option. It suggests the standard scale for fitting a drawing onto a sheet, from A4 to A0 and from Letter to ARCH E.
