Know what is in your food, before you eat it.

CalHallal reads a product and tells you whether it is halal — and, just as importantly, which ingredient led to that answer.

HOW IT WORKS

• Scan the barcode. If the product is known, you get an answer straight away.
• Photograph the ingredient label. Text recognition reads the list and checks each ingredient.
• Photograph a meal. Useful when there is no label at all.

WHAT YOU GET

Every scan returns a clear verdict — halal, haram or doubtful — with the reasoning behind it: the ingredient responsible, why it matters, and the relevant Islamic ruling with its sources. You decide how strict the check should be, and which school of jurisprudence it follows.

Set the allergens you care about and CalHallal flags them in the results alongside the halal verdict.

Log what you eat and follow your calories, protein, carbs and fat against daily targets built from your own body and goals. Scans go straight into your food log, so checking a product and tracking it are the same action.

There is nothing to sign up for. No email, no password, no social login — the app works the moment you open it. It is free, with no paid tier, which is why AI-powered scans are limited to ten per day.

GOOD TO KNOW

Label reading currently recognises Latin script. Labels written only in Arabic or Urdu will not be read from a photo — scan the barcode instead.

Verdicts are produced by automated ingredient matching and AI models. They can be incomplete or wrong, they are not a religious ruling, and they do not replace a certification body or a qualified scholar. Nutrition figures are estimates and are not medical or dietary advice. If you have a severe allergy, always read the physical label.
