heads up for anyone considering this hardware and application. Your device must have a compass or the software will simply calculate all directions as if you are facing north and thus be completely useless. Make sure you have a compass first. you'd be surprised at what devices do not. for instance, all three of my Samsung tablets do not. The app really needs a backup function based on GPS readings.

REPORT THIS APP FOR DEVELOPER POLICY VIOLATION. This app is a dumpster fire and active Developer Policy violation. It crashes the system UI on Android 16. The more people that report this will eventually get it removed, and force Calypso Instruments to actually support the product they took our hard earned money for. Update: A CS rep is regularly checking-in. As of 1.6.52, the device pairing persistence is starting to function, albeit poorly. Calypso is making a slow effort, but effort still

App repeatedly crashes and freezes. Works OK, if you dont go into any of the settings or parameters. It would also be nice to be able to have options for how long the wind average measurement is taken across.
