About this app

CalypsoSpray brings field-ready spraying intelligence to anyone working with crop protection products. Connect your Calypso ultrasonic anemometer or All-in-One sensor over Bluetooth Low Energy and see, in real time, whether the conditions in front of you support a safe, effective application — or if you should hold off.

SPRAY NOW, OR WAIT?

A traffic-light semaphore tells you in one glance whether you are inside the optimal envelope, in caution territory, or in stop conditions. The decision is based on industry-standard parameters used worldwide by agronomists:

• Wind speed (km/h) — drift risk
• Vapour Pressure Deficit (VPD, kPa) — evaporation risk
• Delta T (°C) — air dryness, optimal between 2–8 °C
• Dew point, temperature, humidity, pressure

Default thresholds follow the Australian GRDC guidelines (the de-facto reference for spray timing), and every threshold can be tuned to match your label, product, or local regulation from the Settings screen.

BUILT AROUND CALYPSO SENSORS

CalypsoSpray pairs with the full Calypso family over BLE:

• Ultrasonic Portable — wind speed and direction
• All-in-One — wind + temperature, humidity, pressure, dew point
• WeatherDot — secondary sensor for temperature & humidity when paired with a wind-only Ultra
• Compass models — heading correction for vehicle-mounted setups

Auto-reconnect keeps the link alive between sessions. If the connected sensor doesn't expose air-side parameters, the app falls back to a hyper-local Open-Meteo forecast for the missing fields and badges them clearly so you always know what came from your sensor vs the cloud.

VEHICLE-AWARE WIND

When your phone reports GPS speed, the app computes true wind from apparent wind so a moving tractor or sprayer truck still sees the actual ambient conditions, not the airflow generated by motion. Vehicle speed is also recorded for QA.

SESSION LOGBOOK

Recording is built in. Choose continuous logging (every N seconds while the session is open) or on-demand point recording (one sample per tap of the Record button). Each session captures every reading, the GPS track, and the spray condition timeline. Export sessions as CSV from the logbook.

PRIVACY-FIRST

Your data stays on your device. The only external traffic is the optional weather lookup (Open-Meteo) used as a fallback when your sensor doesn't provide air-side values. No accounts, no analytics, no advertising.
