CanQuit is a free mobile app whose main goal is to help you reduce and quit cannabis. It has been developed by the Addictive Behavior Research Group (GCA) of the University of Oviedo, made up of psychologists with extensive experience in addictions. This application has been designed specifically for young people between 18 and 30 years old, but can be used by anyone of legal age. CanQuit is part of a clinical trial that aims to determine the effectiveness of this mobile application. If you wish to participate, you will be randomly assigned to one of the two intervention conditions: 1) An intervention assisted by a virtual therapist to reduce and/or quit cannabis and 2) An intervention in a self-help format, in which you will be able to download a material with tips for quitting cannabis. Both are designed to reduce or stop consumption in a period of 4 weeks.
Canquit Features:
-Recommendations supervised by therapists: We will guide you through the process of stopping smoking cannabis. To do this, we will propose tips and strategies to make the process easier for you.
-Contact with psychology professionals from Monday to Friday: You will have direct contact with psychologists and researchers from the Addictive Behavior Group (GCA).
-Group chat: You can anonymously share comments, questions, concerns or messages of support with the rest of the users who are using the app.
-Rewards: Users assisted by a virtual therapist automatically access monthly drawings for gift cards of various values (between 5 and 50 euros). For each task completed, you will receive a number of tickets. The greater the number of tickets collected, the greater the probability that you will be a winner in the draws.
-Gamification: With the aim of improving the user experience, CanQuit content has an interactive format.
