About this app

Personal Gazette turns the feeds you read into a newspaper, a real one! It is typeset on your phone and it is yours to keep!

Star a source and it prints in the paper in full. Everything you leave unstarred
sends a single recent piece to the exploration pages at the back, under its own section. Imported feeds arrive unstarred, and you promote the handful you actually read.

After you print your edition you can export it to a pdf reader or read it in the app. Also, you can create clippings from your papers to send specific articles to your friends!

The default is to have photographs in black and white, but you can change to colour. Also, lots of options you sensible defaults, you can save your options in case you need to reset or change phones.

You can set the edition as an epub for your favourite eink reader!

No account. No advertising. No analytics or tracking of any kind — the app
contains no telemetry library at all. Nothing is uploaded, because there is no
server: your feeds, your editions and your settings never leave your phone.

No subscription.

EVERYTHING IS ADJUSTABLE

Masthead and motto, page size and orientation, column count, margins, body size and leading, nameplate size, justification, drop caps, paper and ink colours, picture treatment, pull-quote count, how much of each feed goes in, the exploration section, the schedule, and how many editions to keep.

YOUR OWN LANGUAGE MODEL, IF YOU WANT ONE

Optional and off by default. Point the app at any OpenAI-compatible endpoint such as OpenRouter, or Ollama and llama.cpp on your own machine, and it will order the edition, write a one-line editor's note, choose pull-quotes and curate the exploration. Every one of those falls back to a plain rule, so the paper prints whether or not a model answers, and a pull-quote it suggests is checked to be a real sentence from the article before it is set.

Add feeds by address, paste a site and let the app find its feed, or import
an RSS OPML file from whatever you read now.
A newspaper from your feeds you can read, print and keep. A RSS to Newspaper!

What’s new

Personal Gazette 1.0

Your feeds, set as a newspaper: columns, halftone photographs,
an index and a puzzle on the back page.

Star the sources you want in full; everything else sends one recent
piece to the pages at the back. Print a paper now or have one waiting
each morning. Cut any piece out and share it as a picture or a
document. Export any edition as PDF or EPUB.
