About this app

Securely wipe your Android phone before you sell or trade it in
Android phones change hands all the time—resale, trade‑in, repair, hand‑me‑downs, recycling. Data Eraser by cb innovations is an Android data eraser app built for secure wipe and permanent delete. Use it to erase all data from Android—files, media, and private traces—before resale. Instead of only “deleting” files, it overwrites storage so private data becomes extremely hard to recover with common recovery tools. Use it as your phone wipe tool before you sell your phone, trade it in, return a company phone, hand it to a technician, or recycle it.

Not a photo editor (no “magic eraser”)
If you searched for an “eraser” to remove objects from pictures, this app is not for photo editing. Data Eraser focuses on security: secure delete and data wiping on Android.

Why factory reset alone may not be enough
A standard factory reset and normal delete operations often remove only file references. Parts of the real content may still remain in internal storage or on an SD card. With specialized software, fragments can sometimes be rebuilt. If your phone had banking apps, work documents, private photos, IDs, chats, or saved credentials, you should run a secure wipe that overwrites storage blocks and also wipes free space where old traces can hide.

What you can permanently delete
- Selected files and folders (internal storage and supported SD cards)
- Photos and videos from your gallery (including full albums)
- Documents, downloads, and other sensitive files
- Contacts, call logs, notes, and clipboard content
- Items sent from other apps via Share → Data Eraser
The interface is simple and ad‑free, with clear progress and warnings before any irreversible wipe.

Wipe free space to remove hidden remnants
Even after you delete files normally, leftovers can remain in “free space.” Data Eraser can overwrite free space on internal storage and compatible SD cards to destroy remnants of previously deleted files. This is a key step before resale or trade‑in, because it reduces the chance that older photos, documents, or attachments can be recovered later.

Secure wiping modes
Data Eraser performs real overwriting rather than just marking files as deleted. Choose:
- Fast single‑pass wiping for everyday clean‑ups
- Stronger multi‑pass wiping for confidential information
These wipe methods are inspired by established secure erasure practices and are designed to make recovery extremely difficult, even with advanced tools.

Deletion report for documentation
After each secure erase, you can generate a deletion report for your records. The report can include the date/time, what area was wiped (folder, internal storage, SD card, free space) and which wipe method was used. For businesses, IT teams, repair shops and refurbishers, this report can be used as an erasure certificate inside your process (for audits, customer trust, and GDPR‑style documentation).

Made for resale, repair, and business
Use Data Eraser to:
- wipe your phone before selling it online or in‑store
- prepare an Android device for trade‑in programs
- securely erase a company phone before returning it to IT
- remove customer data from phones you repair, refurbish, or resell
- wipe old devices before recycling or donation

Free version and Premium upgrade
Download and try Data Eraser for free. The free version allows a limited amount of secure wiping per day—enough to test and handle small clean‑ups. If you regularly prepare devices for resale or need unlimited secure erase, unlock Premium with an in‑app purchase and use it as your professional Android data wiping tool.

Important warning
Secure wiping is permanent. Data that has been overwritten should not be recoverable with normal recovery tools. Always back up anything you want to keep, and double‑check selected files, folders and storage areas before you start.

It won't access my SD card storage, throws and error message. Bought and paid for the developer support. Contacted support , got a reply telling me to follow the instructions that I had done already. Made a screen video for them showing the error, they won't come back to me. The drop down breaks through the next heading and looks and performs poorly. They have my 7 quid and I have something I can't use. I know who is better off.

Sorry for the single star, but it did not work for me. "Complete Erase" seems to start but never finishes. The button at bottom of screen never becomes enabled. I'm using an LG tablet running Android 5. Thanks for your reply. Sorry that I don't remember which erasure method. It was 2 or 3 on list when I changed. Result was same. Waited 30 minutes. I went with another method and the tablet's now donated. Upping my rating Best wishes!

Hi Mark, sorry to hear. What did you choose for erasure? Which erasure method? Can you please restart your tablet and try it again? Thanks for a feedback by email: support@cb-innovations.com

Privacy is more than gold. So Shredder app is "must have" doubtlessly. As for me, Cb Data Eraser is the best for Android. I paid for it. I like functionality and design. The only shortcoming is that it stops its job if screen goes off. I do not know if it is possible to solve this problem on Android. If yes, I suppose many users would appreciate it.
