Key It is designed for translators who wish to use Adapt It Mobile to adapt an existing Scripture translation to another related language. In many cases, translators have difficulty obtaining USFM marked up text files to use as the source text for Adapt It Mobile. Key It makes it easy for them to keyboard a source text from an existing printed Scripture publication.

Key It provides the correct number of empty verse records for any chapter of any Scripture book that the translator wishes to keyboard. The translator keyboards from the printed publication into the empty verse records. When the translator is ready, tapping the USFM button generates the text of the current Chapter marked up according to the USFM standard; this marked up text can then be copied into Adapt It Mobile and adaptation to a related language can proceed.

Version 1.1.2 (July 2024) removed the need to copy the text because tapping the Export button (above the display of the USFM text) starts Adapt It Mobile (on the same device) and gives it the USFM file so that Adapt It Mobile then imports it.

Every time the user returns to Key It, it opens at the same Book, Chapter, and Verse that the user was working on previously. This makes it very easy for the user to keyboard in many short sessions. But at any time the user can choose a different Chapter or a different Book, so the user can keyboard portions of Scripture in any order that the user chooses.
